Thank you for this eloquent and personal reflection on hope. I'm off to church with this powerful reminder in my heart!
I've been trying to figure out how to start an advent tradition to teach my son with Autism to "Pay it Forward" rather than wait for gifts at Christmas. I picked up some mini Christmas balls at the store and I am going to try to get him and the rest of the family :-) to do something for someone else and write what they did on a little tag. Attach it to a ball and hang it on the tree each day. What do you think?

Anyone have any better ideas?Â

Right now my hope is in teaching my son the true meaning of Christmas.
