Cultural consumption as Christian witness

I really like the definition of witness or testimony you're working with here. The idea I see (and this may be me reading into the situation!) is that the way we consume the good things in life tells people about us, about our priorities and why we prioritize those things, but without us ever speaking a world. It is living in a way that communicates who we are and the One to whom we serve as testimony, among other things. And that's a good message.

Interestingly, this is a question George Takei takes up from a secular perspective in his recent book. He gets the idea that sharing and liking can be a statement of value. Fascinating stuff - thanks for putting a distinctly Christian perspective on it.

Great points, Brett. Everything good is from God, and everything good is thus worthy of consumption. Sometimes those things are cultural and sometimes not, but if it's good then it's consumable. You've got me thinking of 1 Corinthians 10:31 now.

Cheers,
Tim
