I think this is an inciteful article, and that indeed, empathy is -- these days, too much used, including by Christians, to come to conclusions about important questions.

An evidence of that suggestion is found by noting how much the "power of story" is used today to persuade. In a prior pendulum swing era, the "power of stories" would have been dismissed as mere anecdotal evidence that should be highly discounted. Today, it it especially valued.
