I am not sure how supporting gay teens in an effort to fight bullying and its consequences is correlated with handing out condoms.
I was simply stating that Purple Day was offensive to me because I didn't want the school shaping my daughter's sexual ethics, either by promoting homosexual or heterosexual practice outside the confines of marriage. But the bigger question, as you have noted, was not one of sexual practice as much as it was about human dignity.
Simply acknowledging that people are gay and should be treated with respect isn't the same thing as encouraging any kind of sexual activities. Being gay is about attraction, not about sexual activity.
