Dust we are and to dust we will return, yet Christians know that restoration also lies ahead.
I'm sorry, but as a Christian and science fiction writer with a background in rhetoric, I can't agree with this analysis as it is couched in the same negative arguments, perceptions, and attitudes that have become tropes in and of themselves within the faith. I also belong to an ethnicity that does not place such major emphasis on the negative within the context of scriptural exegesis. The same where it concerns death and disease. Many of the points made by the author about the former are more the product of Western culture and interpretation. It is disheartening because it actually undercuts scripture and breeds a non-redemptive mentality and worldview towards both the planet and humanity et al.
So what would you say Scripture actually says? And what worldview would be preferred?
