I stay away from real fur, but love wearing real leather. Hypocritical? Perhaps.

I love Jesus but often act like I don't. Hypocritical? Perhaps.

God loves me despite my many shortcomings. Awesome? Definitely.

Thanks, Esther. In the interests of full-disclosure, I should tell you that this was written well before its early Monday morning appearance. :)

Thanks for reading and commenting.

It is interesting, Tim, how fur and leather have different symbolic meanings. I think some of that difference is rooted in the realities, or the theoretical realities, that produce them (ie, clubbing baby seals vs putting the hide of cattle used for beef to good use). A purist (which I am not) would not distinguish perhaps, but it is a difference of some significance, I think.

At any rate, these are complex issues with plenty of gray to go around.
