Having faith in the system

Your title reminds me of a common misperception about courts, Robert; it's not one you have, necessarily, but one I've had to correct with many people. We have a legal system, not a justice system. Anyone looking for justice should look to the Judge of the whole world, identified in Genesis 18:25.

The best courts can do is adhere to the law. If the laws need changing, then people know how to do that. If the lawmakers need changing, people know how to do that too.

But do I have faith in the halls of power, as Lindsay's double entendre suggests? No. I have faith in God and I trust him to work through those he has put in power, and in his sovereign will I trust that his purposes will prevail. That is what leads to justice.
