I agree - surely we can find more significant ways to mark our time. But will we? If not, then why not? We know sports statistics but we don't know the books of the Bible. We get angry over political differences but never get upset over obvious injustices. We desire truth but resist the author of truth, Christ.
One of the best uses of time every Christian should consider in the year ahead is simply opening the New Testament and reading Jesus' words, especially the parables and beatitudes. Stop resisting and start embracing the words of the One who went to the Cross for us.
