Every act in Impact Winter becomes a negotiation with the requirements of life.

The best survival games are unforgivingly brutal. It's interesting that the genre's best and most praised is often determined by a difficulty which most will fail. But isn't that like our life in the world.

I enjoyed your meditation on salvation from the trial and curse laid upon us. The physical challenges vary depending on geography, nation and local economy. But even if those of us in the first world are more comfortable, we still have trials of the emotional, psychological and spiritual kind.

Best regards,

Yes, you're absolutely right: non-physical challenges are part of life even when the physical stuff is easy to get!

“A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment?”

Agree 100%! As the song goes, "All I want is a room somewhere, far away from the cold night air . . . ," and be satisfied with what we have. It is just fine to be a crazy old coot, have a dull routine, and not want any new toys. The bills get paid, the kids and grand kids are doing well, and we can die in peace . . . as long as the big earthquake waits us out.
