I found his comments on humility very interesting. And I say this as someone who can't tell her Jeremy Lin from her Alex Rodriguez - sports are not my thing. But his comments about humility resonate with me because I think they point to an important misunderstanding about true humility. It doesn't mean undervaluing your abilities and gifts but valuing them in the right way, and valuing other peoples' in the right way as well. We ought to be confident enough in our own abilities to use them and be aware of God's gift to us in them, but also recognize that this doesn't make us more important or valuable than those around us. Sounds like Lin has a good head on his shoulders and a strong faith to boot - good for him.
