David Brooks' "Moral Bucket List" has significant echoes of the Gospel message.
I have been doing that for years and am now going to a church where people seem to be wrapped in other things. Could be because it is a very middle class church but the pastor is doing a fabulous job in his sermons to teach that truth. I pray for people who are down and out and for anyone that I feel needs pray (always asking them first)
God is so good and I have seen healings of lung cancer in one man I prayed for. He is there for me as well to get through the rough times in my life.
I feel that the more you give to pothers, the more God gives me.
I'm a big fan of David Brooks, but his Moral Bucket list as helpful and lovely as it is brought into sharp focus for me the difference between it and Christianity. https://paulvanderklay.wordpress.com/2015/04/22/david-brooks-moral-bucket-list-my-dying-friend-and-the-cross-of-christ/
