Out Among The Stars, a posthumous release from Johnny Cash, is a stirring example of the music icon's glorious contradictions.

I appreciate the insight to an album from another time, especially one that is as momentous as this one. John J. Thompson always has the best ears in the room. So his take on Johnny Cash ripped from the eighties to present is encouraging - especially the picture of his faith in the middle of his recovery that did indeed prove strong enough to hold faithful to the end. Of course, the song I am going to immediately purchase at iTunes is not "I Came To Believe" but "I Drove Her Out of My Mind". I love it when critics quote lyrics.

I was contemplating purchasing this album as I've been a long time Cash fan (and old enough to say that), but wasn't sure given what I'd read to this point.

With this review the decision has been made, and I will be getting it today.

Thanks JJT !!!!
