The Good vs. The Best

I write to him and then ask him to help. I sit in front of my high priced typewriter, which some people call a computer. I write about my feeling when God touches my heart. I think about how in everyday life he touches someone and everyone in a very special way. King David had it in his heart to talk to God everyday and all day. I know not all of us have that kind of time to just sit and talk to God. But, if you do, you will come away with more than you sat down with. He just told me a little while ago to send a message to my little brother and tell him I love him. I just got a message back saying he loves me too. This new fagiled type writer can do some of the darnest things. Sit quietly, prayerfully and with the knowledge that the angle next to you is holding the hand of God who is wispering in your heart I love you. In God's Grace John

I make sure to get up early enough to have a prayer and fellowship time which is usually one and a half to two hours. I praise and worship or pray in the Spirit for the first half then focus in on more intercessory, specific prayer requests in the second half. Lately I have been challenged to spend more time fellowshiping or listening to the Lord instead of yakking at Him so much. So this morning I had my worship time then had a quiet, more meditative time and I really felt the Lord communicating with me and I had a strong sense of His presence all day. It was great. I usually read my Bible while I eat breakfast and it works out to reading through the Bible in a year. There is nothing more important or more real than our relationship with God. I have a busy day as well, I am a business owner.

John. I'm touched with your response. It's is a beautiful reminder that God does move within his people and the "fragile typewriter" is a tool that you can use to record these special moments.

Thanks!

Turn off the internet. This happened to me when I left my laptop at work. All of a sudden, I had time to do all of those things that I needed to get caught up on. It struck me what a black hole the web is--I pause to look at the news and before I know it I've blown 45 minutes on the likes of YouTube, CNN, etc. I go back to what I was originally supposed to be doing, beaver away for 45 minutes, reward myself with just a peek back at the news page I went to the first time, and the whole cycle starts all over again. And then I wonder why I never have enough time. I'll conclude with this thought: "A clean house is a sign that the internet connection is broken." Prediction: I will be back on this page in about an hour, because I just have to see if it's been posted and if anyone has commented. Lord, have mercy.

God's primary desire for us is relationship with us so this is probably the enemy's number one area of attack. Distracting us with the details of life is the enemy's goal. It's so effective becuase usually those details concern those who we are in relationship with and love. One of my pastors said that faith is a fight. Maybe we have to pray for an extra measure of faith to know that if we give up that time it will be okay. God will give us grace to still get all or our tasks done. Its funny how we can give up control in some areas of our walk with God. I didn't tithe for many years but since I have been I am blown away by how faithful God is to His promise to bless us for this sewing. Someday I hope to get past my unfaithfullness in taking out daily time that is only His. I know if I could just do it I will be amazed by the blessing in return.

John is absolutely correct. If you spend time with the Lord you will come away much wiser and much stronger. I do not sit in front of my computer. I write in a journal. Through this God has given me specific revelation and wisdom concerning life (James 1:5).

Good morning my dearly belove,I want to comment about the issue of the Good vs The best, the Bible says,FOR WE KNOW THAT,ALL THING WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THOE THAT LOVE GOD.good is the beginig, but best is the end of achievment, without good you cannot see the best so combine both together, good and best is for you, your potion in the land of the living.so good is the promise while best is the fulfilment of your destiny.Iam pastor ukpono.

Hello,

I don't have your problem. I'm 70 and have much more time for what is most important to me without all the pressures and stresses that are necessary when you are younger but I remember what it was like.

Eat well. If your body isn't taken care of you won't do as much and you won't do it as well.

Spend some time with God is mentioned second but most important so I'll take longer with it.

For me, living alone with my parents dead, four of my five siblings dead and the one alive in a wheelchair in a nursing home with Alzheimers so she doesn't always recognize me, and most of my best friends gone, my friends left are really important to me.

And the time with God is more like a discussion with the best of my friends who listens to me, and gives me answers and advice--not in words but in a feeling of the warmth of his presence and what he thinks is right that helps me through each day.

I don't like an arbitrary time for myself. I do it frequently, when I wake in the morning, when I'm resting, even when I read something on the Internet so I may stop for a moment and ask God for help for someone I read about or someone I think of who I know is having problems.

Take some time to tell God what you are doing and what you are working on and ways to do it and listen to him. Listening to God is really important and putting it into practice is really important. All the reading of the Bible, prayer, etc. if in vain if you don't do it.

I begin each morning listening to Joyce Meyer on the Internet. She basically seems to be preaching not to save us but to teach the saved from the BIBLE how God will have us act toward each other to reflect in our behavior which makes us a better testimony to the world of our God--and makes us closer to God and happier as a side effect.

Take time with God to talk to him about your work and what you are doing and I think you will be suprised how much better you feel as you do it, how much more you get done and how much better you do it afterward.

I hope so and I will be saying a prayer to Him for your well being in this time of difficulty.

Have a blessed and cheerful life--It's what God wants for you and I do too.

Cark
