If research supports that greater social cohesion can led to decreases in gun violence, Christians have important contributions to offer.
Chad- fantastic article here. Much of my own doctoral studies centered on Hellerman's work and I wholeheartedly agree on the need to bring familial metaphors back to the forefront of the church. While there is most certainly a great deal of baggage that comes with the notions of "siblings in the pew" there is far more to be gained. Your emphasis on a reduction in physical violence is a strong argument. Thanks again.
I appreciate the kind remarks. Yes, we certainly have communal commitment issues which are so foreign to the New Testament communities.
